build your support system

And I support parents, educators and professionals in that messy, in-between space...when you know a child learns and experiences the world differently, but you’re still trying to understand what that means for them, for the systems around them, and for the role you play in their story.

I'm Kate.

“Kate’s take on the autistic brain were a game-changer.”

"Kate just gets it. I never have to over-explain or question if I’m being truly understood. Kate hears the unspoken parts, the things I can’t quite put into words, because she’s lived it too. That makes all the difference.”

"Kate is truly an inspiration in the world of special education. Her ability to share her personal journey while imparting valuable knowledge creates a unique connection with her audience. “Kate’s insights on the autistic brain are unforgettable. Truly eye-opening.”

"Kate was my son’s IEP case manager from 6th through 8th grade, and I cannot overstate the impact she had on our lives or the course of his educational experience. When my autistic son’s occupational therapy services were being reduced, Kate became his voice at a time when he could not fully advocate for himself. She stood up for his needs with compassion, determination, and an unwavering belief that he deserved the appropriate supports to succeed.

From the very first day, Kate made it clear that my son was more than a name on a list or a case to manage—he was a human being who mattered. She treated him with dignity, patience, and genuine care, advocating for him as if he were her own child. As a parent, that level of advocacy is rare and life-changing.

Kate didn’t just help us navigate the system; she helped us feel seen, heard, and supported during some of our most difficult moments. If Kate were still working in our district, I would request her as my son’s advocate without hesitation. To this day, I recommend Kate to every parent I meet who is fighting to get their child the services they need and deserve. Families like ours need advocates like Kate."

“We are so lucky to have found Kate. Not only does she understand the neurodivergent child, she is gifted in teaching as well. My high school senior was diagnosed with ADHD in 3nd grade. He muscled his way through school all these years with very few educators understanding how his brain works. Kate is tutoring my son in pre calc this year and the results have been amazing. Not only does she understand HOW he learns , she is successfully teaching him a very difficult subject with great results. Listen to her because she understands. The schools just don't teach the way many of the children need to be taught. Unfortunately, parents are sometimes left feeling lost and helpless when their child is struggling to keep up with learning in an environment that doesn't understand them. Reach out to Kate. She can help.”

“When the system doesn’t understand your child...but someone does. You are not alone.”

“I just really want you to know that you were the first teacher ever to teach me how to actually learn. How to study, how to find my way of learning and I just really wanted to reach out and tell you how much I appreciated you as a teacher and still think about you & our class often.”

“You were the first teacher who taught me how to learn.”

“Thanks again for joining us at the IEP meeting today. Those meetings always come with anxiety. it was nice to have you in our corner. After the changes we brainstormed in the meeting, our child has attended school every day this week and showed engagement with their academics. What a win!”

“Support that actually made a difference.”

“Kate, I hope you are well. I just wanted to reach out and thank you again for your help last year with navigating the school system in trying to get supports put in place for our child. She is doing so well this year, we just wanted to let you know!”

“Thank you for helping us find our way through the system.”

“I am so incredibly proud of our good friend, Kate. Over the years that we've known her, we've watched her and her husband navigate some of the toughest challenges with so much grace, heart, and advocacy for their son.

Not only is Kate a phenomenal parent, she is a highly educated and experienced educator.
